American will use Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners for all the new flights except for Zurich to Dallas, which will be flown by Boeing 777-200s. American is adding seasonal service to Budapest, Prague and Buenos Aires for next summer. Many of American's summer routes were discontinued because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

American’s new routes offer more offbeat destinations to customers. United has been taking a similar approach.

American Airlines already has four other routes to Athens and two other routes to Milan, but adding more takeoff locations only makes these European hotspots easier for American travelers to reach. And the airline is extending its Eastern European reach with its first flights to Budapest and Prague.
