EUGENE — For the second time in three seasons, Oregon narrowly escaped an upset against Boise State at Autzen Stadium. The Ducks’ 34-27 win gets them off on the right foot but was not nearly the dominant showing most everyone expected.

The Cougars built a big lead and then had to fight off an Oregon State comeback bid to win a season opener that include a pair of delays.

HOUSTON — Tackling plagues nearly every defense in college football during the first game of the season. Oregon State was no exception. The Beavers had several missed and broken tackles lead to explosive plays in a 33-20 loss to No. 23 Houston Saturday afternoon at TDECU Stadium.

The No. 2-ranked Oregon Ducks opened their 2026 college football season by avoiding an upset against Boise State with an exhilarating 34-27 win, led by a standout performance from Dante Moore.

The first weekend of the 2026 college football season kicks off today with 15 FBS matchups. Two teams looking to capitalize on strong finishes in 2025-26 will open their season against each other when the Boise State Broncos travel to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks.
