Namibia’s president-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah won more than 57 percent of the votes cast with her close rival Panduleni Itula of the IPC getting 26 percent.

Namibia has elected its first female president, with Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah declared the winner of the presidential election according to the results released by the country’s electoral commission– marking a historic moment for the country.

With this win, not only as Namibia elected its first female president but also maintained the South West Africa People’s Organisation's 34-year stronghold across the nation.
