Hurricane Lowell grew alarmingly into a Category 5 storm as it hurtled towards Hawaii with winds nearing 160mph. Thankfully for the residents of the Hawaiian Islands, it since was downgraded to Category 4 but still remains a major threat according to officials.
Hurricane Lala strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane Saturday as it approached Hawaii’s Big Island, bringing increasingly dangerous winds, heavy rain and the threat of life-threatening flooding to the state.
