The FBI has arrested a Milwaukee judge accused of helping a man evade immigration authorities. Friday's arrest escalates a clash between the Trump administration and local authorities over the president’s sweeping immigration crackdown.

FBI Director Kash Patel said in a since-deleted post on X that the bureau believed the judge "intentionally misdirected federal agents" seeking to arrest an undocumented immigrant.

The FBI had launched an investigation into claims Judge Hannah Dugan had helped an illegal immigrant evade arrest by ICE officers by misdirecting them.
