On Tuesday, the Detroit Dog Rescue showed up to a home where a German Shepard puppy was kept inside with their parents left outside in the cold. The temperature was 3 degrees, feels like -10 degrees.

AAA issued a statewide Arctic Air Advisory and offered tips to help keep cars working properly during these extremely cold conditions.

The cold temperatures outside prove especially challenging for pets that spend much of their time outdoors. Members of Detroit Dog Aide, an organization that provides medical care and pet supplies, say they find pets exposed to the elements in dangerous conditions every year.
