The Maple Leafs wanted Anthony Stolarz to look good in front of his friends and family. But the giant goaltender from Jackson Township, N.J., about 45 minutes south of Newark, wound up being the solo star.

The New Jersey Devils lost 2-1 in overtime to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night at the Prudential Center. The Devils dominated every facet of the game but only managed one goal despite an incredibly lopsided shot total.

The scoreline very much flattered Toronto in a game where the Devils controlled the run of play but ran up against a red-hot Stolarz.
