NEW YORK — Devils center Jack Hughes didn’t understand what MSG analyst Steve Valiquette meant when he called out Hughes for trying to “embarrass” Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin during the Devils’ 5-1 win at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.

Former New York Rangers goalie Steve Valiquette is making more of a name for himself as an analyst than he did during his playing days – and not in a good way. Valiquette is getting roasted on social media after calling out New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes for attempting a one-handed deke on a breakaway against Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin on Monday night.

Jesper Bratt had a goal and three assists, Jack Hughes scored twice and Jacob Markstrom made 39 saves as the New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers 5-1.
