A New York Times story published over the weekend showed that Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy was on to something in early June when he raised the issue of the Biden White House's use of the autopen in relation to pardons.

Former President Joe Biden has acknowledged that he didn’t agree to the name of every person who received one of the 46th president’s sweeping pardons, according to reports.

Former President Joe Biden briefly considered pardoning former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman of his conviction on a federal bribery charge during Biden’s last days in office, but changed his mind the following day.

Biden only signed off on the criteria and standards for granting these pardons, an investigation of the email communications show.

Lost in today’s partisan volleys, though, is that a president doesn’t need to sign anything to dole out clemency.

Former President Biden says he consciously decided to issue the pardon. But emails obtained by the New York Times show a staffer authorized the use of the autopen for its execution.
