The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating a multistate outbreak of salmonella typhimurium infections linked to cucumbers, the agencies said on Monday.

Federal and state health officials said Friday they are working to track down more information about a Salmonella outbreak traced to Mexican-grown cucumbers that sickened 68 people in 19 states.

As of Nov. 26, 68 people infected with the outbreak strain of salmonella have been reported in 19 states, including at least four in Texas.
