According to a Metra social media post, BNSF train #1276 was traveling inbound from the western suburbs to Union Station when the incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. near Prairie Avenue and Burlington Avenue.

A 41-year-old man was who struck and killed by a Metra BNSF train in Brookfield has been identified, officials said. His death was ruled an accident.
