Former LSU star Marcus Spears is the latest media member to warn of an uproar if Brian Kelly can’t guide the Tigers to the College Football Playoff this season. Kelly notched back-to-back 10-win seasons and won 9 games last season but LSU is still searching for a spot in the playoffs during his tenure.

A week into preseason practice, LSU coach Brian Kelly has been impressed by one of the new transfers. Kelly said Monday that senior defensive tackle Bernard Gooden “has really flashed” in his first practices since transferring from South Florida.
