A thin layer of fog covered parts of Delhi this morning as the minimum temperature dropped below 5 degree Celsius.

The Air Quality Early Warning System (AQEWS) predicts that Delhi's air quality will remain in the "poor" category until at least Saturday. A bulletin released on Wednesday evening stated: "The air quality is likely to stay 'poor' from Thursday to Saturday, with the outlook for the next six days also indicating 'poor' air quality."

The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded in Delhi was 161, categorised as 'moderate' as of 8 am, according to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Delhi's air quality persisted in the 'poor' category on Wednesday morning, with an AQI of 209. Varied AQI levels were observed across the city, ranging from 'moderate' to 'poor'. Experts attribute Monday's improved air quality to regional rainfall.

Previously, the Supreme Court had allowed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to scale down air pollution measures in Delhi from Grap Stage IV to Stage II, citing improved air quality over the past week.
