The DOJ said Louisville's jail wasn't holding inmates in custody for up to 48 hours on “immigration detainers.”

Louisville, Kentucky, changes its immigration detainer policy following DOJ warnings, with Mayor Craig Greenberg agreeing to extend notice periods "from 5-12 hours to 48 hours" for federal authorities.

The Department of Homeland Security recently named more than 500 cities, counties, and states it considers sanctuary jurisdictions.
